Employment land information

The National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) requires the Local Plan to have a robust and up to date evidence base. An Employment Land Review (ELR) has been prepared for the city that meets the requirements of NPPF and accompanying National Planning Policy Guidance (NPPG). The ELR informs the future employment development needs in the city, specifically for uses within the Business( or B) Use Class, and assesses how land supply can meet these needs.

The ELR findings have informed production of Hull’s Local Plan Issues and Options document, and the Kingswood Area Action Plan. The ELR will also inform the next stages of Local Plan preparation, as well as other planning work such as in the determination of planning applications for employment development, for appeals and in the monitoring and delivery of employment development in the city.

A partial update to the  Employment Land Review (ELR) was prepared in November 2014. This was considered by Planning Committee on 20 January 2015. The update should be read as an addendum to the original ELR. Importantly the document updates the survey information that informed the ELR. Surveys for this were carried out in 2013. A new survey was undertaken in July 2014, and subsequent planning permissions and changes in status of some sites have also been recorded.
