We regularly carry out consultations with housing and prospective housing customers. Our consultations are open to everybody regardless of their age, gender, race, religion or belief, sexual orientation or disability. We want to hear from all of our customers so that we can ensure that their views, experiences and needs are considered.
We have partnership agreements with both Skills 4 Communities and the Africa Forum, to encourage customers from black and minority ethnic (BME) communities to get involved.
Our Learning Disability Focus Group meets regularly to discuss some of the housing issues that particularly affect customers with a learning disability.
We also have focus groups that look specifically at issues affecting disabled customers and young people.
Our tenants compact
The 'key to our future' document, known as the tenants compact, sets out what we will do for our involved tenants, what you can expect from us and what we expect from you. It covers a range of issues including the principles that govern tenant participation and it is signed by the council and council tenants.
