Community infrastructure levy

The community infrastructure levy (CIL) is a locally set charge on development that authorities can choose to introduce to help fund a range of infrastructure and support development in their area. CIL is intended to supplement and meet a gap in funding alongside other funding streams required to deliver necessary infrastructure.

Hull CIL Draft Charging Schedule

The Hull CIL Draft Charging Schedule and associated submission documents were submitted to the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government on Friday 16 December 2016. Details of the places and times at which the submission documents can be inspected are given on the Statement of Fact public notice -


As a result of the consultation on the published Charging Schedule during August and September 2016, a number of changes are proposed to the Draft Charging Schedule. In accordance with Regulations 19(4) and 19(5) the Statement of Modifications is being made available -
 

Comments about the proposed modifications

Any comments about the proposed modifications should include your name and address and should be sent to the Council by midnight on Tuesday 31 January 2017. Please note that this is not an opportunity to raise new representations on the published Draft Charging Schedule or to repeat any comments made during the August to September 2016 public consultation. All previous representations stand and will be submitted to the Inspector.

The next stage

An independent planning inspector has been appointed by the Secretary of State to conduct an examination of the Hull Community Infrastructure Charging Levy. They will examine the charging schedule and identify any key issues to be discussed at a hearing, if necessary. The inspector will decide who will participate in the examination hearing, according to the issues identified, and will contact the relevant individuals and parties independently fromus.

The hearing is anticipated to take place in March.
