Dog breeding licence

A dog breeding establishment licence is required for anyone breeding five or more litters of puppies in a 12 month period.

Licences are issued under the Breeding and Sale of Dogs (welfare) Act 1999, and must be renewed annually.

Once an application has been received, a council officer will arrange to inspect the premises to ensure its suitability. The licence will be issued once the licence conditions are met, and after payment of the licence fee.

Payment

Dog breeding establishment annual licence - £151 (VAT exempt). Annual licence period is December to December.
