Hackney carriages fares

Hackney carriages fares for distance

Tariff one (operable from 6am to 11.30pm daily)
130 yards (123.4 metres) £2.50
Each subsequent 130 yards (123.4 metres) 10p
Stoppages at all times £15 per hour and pro rata

Tariff two (operable from 11.30pm to 6am daily)
100 yards (approx 96 metres) £2.50
Each subsequent 100 yards (approx 96 metres) 10p
Stoppages at all times £15 per hour and pro rata

Hackney carriages fares for time

First hour - £25 and pro-rata

Extra charges (applicable at all times)
Articles of luggage (excluding items normally classed as hand luggage and also wheelchairs and similar equipment) 20p
Each passenger, in excess of one, to be charged per person 20p

Bank holiday surcharges

If the hackney carriage is hired on a bank holiday, the surcharge for each journey is £1. This is applicable over a 24 hour period.

Christmas period surcharges
From 9pm on Christmas Eve to 6am on 27 December £2.50
From 9pm on New Year’s Eve to 6am on 2 January £2.50
For each contamination of vehicle, inside or out £40 plus fare

Please note that all quoted journeys must be paid for in advance.
