National pool lifeguard qualification (RLSS)
Would you like to gain a professional lifeguard qualification? Then sign up for our course at Beverley Road Baths or East Hull Pools.
The course costs £250 and includes -
- all tuition fees
- two modules - foundation and professional
- assessment fees
- the course log book incorporating the course literature
Who can sign up
To enrol on the course you must meet the following criteria -
- be physically fit
- have good eye sight and hearing
- be mentally alert
Wearing t shirt and shorts, you must also be able to swim -
- 50m on your front
- 50m on your back
- 50m in less than 60 seconds
Finally you must be able to touch the bottom of the large swimming pool at Beverley Road Baths and East Hull Pools with your hand.
Evening training sessions run for a 13 week period and in order to complete the course you must be able to attend every session. No refund will be given for candidates who do not complete the course.
Please note you must attend for a minimum of 33 hours tuition before you can be entered for the foundation module assessment. You must complete both modules to attain the national pool lifeguard qualification.

You can reserve your place on the next NPLQ course by downloading and completing the pdf form below. Then send it to the address at the bottom of the application form (dependant on where you want to do your course) with a cheque for £250 made payable to 'Kingston Upon Hull City Council'. You can also bring your completed application to Beverley Road Baths or East Hull Pools and pay by cash, cheque or debit card.
