Commercial vehicle permits

If you want to use a van or large trailer to dispose of domestic waste at a household waste and recycling centre in Hull, you will need a permit.

Commercial vehicle permitYou can only use these permits to dispose of domestic waste that you have generated at your household address in Hull.

Please note it is an offence to dispose of any waste other than household waste such as commercial or industrial waste at our household waste and recycling centres.

How to apply

You must be a resident of Hull to apply. Permits are free but restricted to 12 permits per resident, per year.

We will post your permits to you within five working days of your request.

Vehicles that need a permit

This scheme applies to all vehicles that are commercial in nature. This includes vans, pick-ups and trailers greater than 6’ x 4’ or with more than a single axle.

Hire vehicles

Residents can use a hire van to access the household waste recycling centres, but must sign a declaration form on site and are allowed a maximum of three trips. They should also bring the hire agreement (carrying a Hull address), the resident's pass or alternative proof of address in the form of a driving licence or utility bill to gain access.
