Open space assessment

The Hull open space, sport and recreation assessment provides a set of local standards for the provision of open space in the city. This includes standards for the quantity, quality and accessibility of different types of open spaces, identifying areas where there is a shortage of decent quality open space. The document makes a number of recommendations for the improvement of provision across the city and was developed to provide information for local plan preparation.

Open spaces in the city were audited in summer 2008. A number of consultation events were also held with residents and those responsible for open space, sport and recreation provision. The report was finalised in February 2009 and was designed to comply with the requirements of national planning policy.
