RSS feeds

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication and it is used to alert you when new information is added to a website. Using RSS you can have the latest news from Hull City Council delivered directly to your PC, rather than visiting our website. To receive RSS feeds, you will need to install a RSS news reader. There are many free readers available, for all different platforms (Mac and PC). Google Reader (link opens in a new window) is an example of a browser-based news reader.

Hull City Council does not endorse any third party application. Google Reader is given as an example only.

To use our RSS feeds

RSS icon Look for the RSS orange button which shows you which information is available as an RSS feed.

Follow your news reader’s instructions to add a subscription to the feed of your choice. Most news readers allow you to simply drag and drop the RSS feed icon onto you news reader to set up the subscription. Your RSS news reader will let you know when the feed you have subscribed to is updated - you will not even have to be on our website to receive the updates.
