Air quality action plan

We have put the air quality management area in place around Castle Street because the Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2) levels exceed the national objectives. Air quality management area

The boundary of the area was drawn up following lengthy consultation and an action plan has been produced containing measures aimed at working towards achieving the national air quality objective for NO2 and improving the air quality in Hull generally.

While the major measures are traffic related, the action plan also includes measures aimed at domestic properties and other sites where energy conservation could have an impact.

The black line represents the air quality management area, the blue line shows the area where NO2 is exceeded and the green line shows major roads in the area.

The action plan includes 19 measures -
