Credit licences

Most businesses that offer goods or services on credit, or lend money to consumers, must be licensed by the Office of Fair Trading.

Businesses should be careful not to commit the following offences -

  • unlicensed trading
  • publishing misleading credit advertisements
  • harassing debtors
