Gambling Act 2005

The Gambling Act 2005, which came into force on 1 September 2007, details the procedures in place for gambling.

If you need to license a premises for gambling in Hull, we can offer advice and are responsible for -

The Gambling Commission

The Gambling Commission is in charge of controlling gambling throughout the country.

It is responsible for giving advice and issuing the following -

  • operating licences
  • personal management licences
  • personal functional licences

Application forms for the above licences can be obtained by contacting the Gambling Commission.

Licensing objectives

All those involved in gambling must work to promote the three gambling licensing objectives. These are -

  • keeping gambling crime free
  • making sure that gambling is fair and open
  • protecting children and vulnerable adults
