Ceremonies at other venues
We appreciate that you may wish to hold your ceremony at an alternative place of your choice, such as your home or garden or somewhere else that has some special significance to you.
If entering into a Marriage or Civil Partnership it is not possible to have a legal ceremony at an alternative venue, it is however possible to have a celebratory ceremony or vow ceremony.
Our highly experienced registrars will attend alternative venues and conduct a personalised vow ceremony, providing that a satisfactory assessment of your chosen venue has taken place beforehand*.
This celebratory ceremony will give you the opportunity to exchange personal vows, exchange rings, incorporate poetry or readings and conclude with the presentation of your legal certificate.
If selecting this option the legal registration must be carried out beforehand. This can be a short procedure which requires you and your two witnesses to attend at the register office to complete all the legal formalities. This can be done in the days leading up to your ceremony.
To discuss this option please contact us for more details
*An additional fee is payable for this assessment visit
Please note that marriages and civil partnerships can only take place after legal preliminaries referred to as ‘ giving notice ‘ have been completed, regardless of where the ceremony is to be held.
