Environment

Image of EmployeeThe environment around us has a huge impact on the quality of our lives. The cleanliness of our streets, noise and nuisance levels in our neighbourhoods, air and water quality: all these make a difference to our lives.

Hull City Council provides a wide range of services that significantly improve the quality of our environment. We clean the streets and pavements, collect rubbish and waste, and monitor air and water quality.

And we are responsible for environmental health issues; ensuring that food quality meets the appropriate standard and dealing with household pests. Plus deal with local problems, such as noise, flytipping and animal nuisance.

But we are also concerned about the wider environment, which is why we continually encourage residents and businesses to help us increase recycling. We have doorstep recycling collections and a network of recycling sites, and we make it easy for people to recycle.
