Housing
Hull City Council is dedicated to making Hull a great place to live. This means improving and maintaining homes to create neighbourhoods that people are happy to live in.
We are working hard to improve the quality, choice and standards of housing in the city. We’re making significant investments in our housing stock to meet the Decent Homes Standard. And we are also making it easier for customers to find the right house through our HomeSearch scheme.
We manage over 29,000 council-owned homes in Hull, and provide a range of housing services to our tenants, including maintenance and repair.
We want to create neighbourhoods which are attractive, successful and sustainable. And our drive to increase tenant participation will ensure that residents have more say in local issues.
Race equality in regeneration projects
The Commission for Racial Equality is investigating whether physical regeneration projects help to build strong communities and promote race equality in England, Scotland and Wales. The commission is looking at projects such as rebuilding or refurbishing public sector housing, building a new shopping centre or providing facilities such as a school or community centre.
