You can experience an abundance of wildlife in Hull's city parks.
Grey squirrels are the most easily seen mammal as they forage for food throughout the day. Red foxes are much more shy and more likely encountered at night. Several species of bats also hunt at dusk over the many ponds and lakes. At certain times of the year, you can participate in bat walks at East Park.
City parks provide a habitat for many species of birds including good numbers of waterfowl. East Park is particularly attractive to birdwatchers and is home to grey heron, kingfisher and great crested grebes. In winter goosanders can often be found on the boating lake.
The wetland area at Noddle Hill is a refuge to wildlife including grass snakes and water vole. Roe deer can also be seen at dawn and dusk.
