Aviaries and zoos

In Hull parks you can enjoy a wide variety of exotic birds, farm animals, deer and wallabies.

  • East Park is home to our animal education centre where you can experience close encounters with reptiles, bugs and tarantulas. The park also contains an exciting selection of birds including rheas (a South American relative of the ostrich), red-necked wallabies from Australia and alpacas from Peru.

  • Pearson Park has a Victorian conservatory with reptiles, fish and two aviaries containing foreign finches and small parrots.

  • Pickering Park has an extensive collection of aviaries containing various pheasants, exotic chickens, large parrots, finches, cockatiels and peafowl. These are available to view at all times when the park is open.

  • West Park houses six aviaries containing foreign finches, ducks, ornamental pigeons, pheasants, quails and small parrots. Wallabies and sheep can be found in the paddocks. These are available to view at all times when the park is open.
