If you are a fan of Ferens Art Gallery, why not join Friends of the Ferens?

Membership of the Friends of the Ferens stands at 675 members and continues to rise. The subscription is £10 a year, but we love to receive donations over and above. Our aims are to help support the Ferens continuing programme of major exhibitions, free of entry charges. We help to expand and care for the gallery's collections by contributing to the purchase and conservation of works of art for the gallery and supporting related projects.

Friends have some special advantages too including -

  • invitations to social events, talks and visits (including the members only preview of the Ferens Open Exhibition)
  • topical newsletters (print or email option)
  • regular email updates on exhibitions and art related events in and around Hull
  • discounts of 10 per cent on purchases in the Ferens shop and cafe with a current membership card

We have our Adopt a Painting scheme in place where individual members contribute in whole or part to the restoration and conservation of key words in the Ferens collections. The lateset is a beautiful portrait of Miss Ivy Lillian Close, 1908, by Arthur Hacker.
