Facilities and access on the Arctic Corsair
In order to preserve the Arctic Corsair in its original form, accessibility on the ship is limited.
Onboard, between deck levels there are several very steep, almost ladder like, stairways which visitors must be able to go down backwards. In addition there are low ceilings, narrow deck corridors and a number of watertight doors with a high threshold to step over.
Unfortunately this means the Arctic Corsair is not wheelchair accessible, though the deck of the ship can be viewed from the river side.
The tour is also considered not suitable for unaccompanied children under 16, children under six or people with impairments who feel they will be unable to cope with the physical difficulties of the ship.
For your own safety, please wear sensible shoes while you are onboard.
There are no toilet facilities available onboard. The nearest toilet facilities (wheelchair accessible) are located in the Hull and East Riding Museum.
