Clipper 09-10 race finish
The fleet returned to a city centre full of activity including the busking and performance trail, a BBC community talent stage in Queen Victoria Square and a young people's live music and exhibition event in the Museums Quarter.
In the marina after the impressive display by the Red Devils and seeing the boats lock in there was a further aerial display from the Black Cat Helicopter display team and a moving performance from Saxophonist Julian Smith (of Britain's Got Talent fame).
Once the boats were berthed there were the Clipper 09-10 presentations which saw crews, friends and family cheer on those who had taken part in the race on the Clipper stage at the end of the marina.
This was followed by more music on the Clipper stage Mitch Whinehouse and music veteran Paul Carrak among others.
The city's old fruit market was also brought to life with a children's area with a pirate ship and activities with Scrapstore, activities with libraries, face painting and exotic pets while new creative businesses to move into units in the area were showcasing their wares ahead of opening later this year from performance and art spaces to jewellers and Funky Furniture.

The feeback from businesses and residents has been really positive. The economic benefits are set to continue after the Clipper race with trade corridors set up with Nova Scotia for seafood and a three-way trade agreement between Qingdao, Hull and Humber and Nova Scotia.
Weekend of fun
The waterfront was alive with activity incorporating Hull’s Jazz festival as well as the ever popular Maritime festival. Formerly known as Sea Fever, the Maritime festival features live music, arts, crafts, and examples of traditional barges and sailing craft.
