a modern waterfront city

Hull is a city that continues to surprise first time visitors. Whilst still retaining its unique character and friendly welcome, this historic maritime city has undergone a dramatic transformation over the last few years, now offering a vibrant waterfront setting for a broad spectrum of conferences, meetings and other events.

The development of a stunning Marina, right in the heart of the city, kick started a programme of dockland regeneration. Projects have included the completion of an architecturally stunning, modern shopping centre, set on stilts above the waters of a former city centre dock as well as Sir Terry Farrell’s iconic structure, The Deep, an award winning £45 million visitor attraction.

Other developments include a magnificent 25,000 seater stadium, home to two of the city’s major sporting clubs, Hull City and Hull FC, and host to major pop concerts and international sporting events. Work is currently underway on the £160 million, 40 acre, St. Stephen's project. Due for completion in 2007 the development will combine a new, state of the art integrated transport interchange along with a retail, leisure and residential complex and a new home for the world renowned Hull Truck Theatre.
