Get online with IT sessions - 26/09/17
The annual and biggest digital inclusion campaign in the UK is back and Hull Libraries are hosting taster sessions to get people online.

Now in its 11th year, Get Online Week, between 2 and 8 October, is for anyone who wants to have a go at getting online for the first time and try1thing - use the internet to do just one thing you’d normally do in a shop or bank, in a doctor’s or chemist, or even over the phone and how the internet can make life easier, cheaper, healthier and more fun.

Free sessions are aimed at beginners which will include basic searching, email, safety and security features and will take place on:

• Tuesday 3 October, 2 – 4pm, at Hull Central Library. Looks at searching the internet using Google. Call 01482 210 000 to book a place
• Thursday 5 October, 10am – 12noon, at Hull Central Library. Looks at setting up and using email. Call 01482 210 000 to book a place.
• Friday 6 October, 10am – 12noon, at Hull Central Library. This session helps with completing online forms. Call 01482 210 000 to book a place

Participants taking part are advised to bring your own device e.g. tablets, laptops or smartphones.
Hull Libraries have also teamed up with Barclays Digital Eagles to deliver a Digital Day at Waudby Library. The sessions include:

• Tuesday 3 October, 1 – 5pm, at Waudby Library, Annandale Road – call 01482 331 264 to book a place. Tea and Teach drop-in session is aimed at adults.
• Tuesday 3 October, 3.30 – 5pm, at Waudby Library, Annandale Road – call 01482 331 264 to book a place. This session is aimed for young people who want to have a go at coding by taking part in fun challenges that introduce the basics of coding.
