Thrills and spills of Hull Fair returns for 2017 - 26/09/17
Hull Fair, one of Europe’s largest travelling fairs, is set to return to the city for eight days from Friday 6 October until 11pm on Saturday 14 October.

Taking over 16 acres of Walton Street car park, Hull Fair boasts attractions from across the country. With more than 300 attractions from roller-coasters, white-knuckle-rides to hook-a-duck along with over 80 rides for children including trampolines, fun houses, helter skelters and mini versions of the teenage rides such as mini Miami, mini waltzer and jumping jack.

This year’s Hull Fair will open at 5pm on Friday 6 October by the Lord Mayor of Hull, Councillor John Hewitt.
Councillor Terry Geraghty, Portfolio Holder for Culture and Leisure and Chair of Hull Culture and Leisure, said: “Now in its 724th year, the fair is one of Hull’s biggest traditions, as well as one of its oldest, attracts hundreds of thousands of people each year with residents and visitors who travel from further afield.

“I am confident the fair will be hugely successful and I hope everyone has a great time, creating a fun and friendly atmosphere.”

With more than one mile of stalls down Walton Street, filled with the sights and smells of traditional fairground food from traditional nougat, pomegranates, toffee apples, candy floss and brandy snap to hot dogs, hamburgers, chips or something new such as Tai Fish Waffles and freshly made stone baked pizzas.

The fair is open every day between 2 and 11pm, from 12noon each Saturday and closed all day Sunday.
A number of road closures will be in place from 10am on Wednesday 4 October until 12 noon on Sunday 15 October.
