Anlaby Road resurfacing - 13/12/16
Resurfacing work will take place on Anlaby Road, in front of Hull Royal Infirmary from Wednesday 14 - Friday 16 December.

The works form part of the ongoing carriageway widening which are taking place to remove the pinch point outside of HRI, and relieve congestion for motorists who use this arterial route.

The closures will take place on:

  • Wednesday 14 December, from 7pm - 6am
  • Thursday 15 December, from 9pm - 6am
  • Friday 16 December, from 7pm - 6am

Councillor Martin Mancey, Portfolio Holder with responsibility for transport and highways, said:

""The reconstruction of this road is vital in order to improve traffic flows in and around the city centre, and will, I'm sure, be welcomed by drivers who use this route on a regular basis.

""Once this improvement scheme has been completed, it will address a long-standing congestion point on the road network, and offer a more direct and safer route for ambulances entering and exiting the hospital.""

Access will not be permitted from Ice House Road onto Anlaby Road and signed traffic diversion routes will be in place via Ferensway, Mytongate, Hessle Road and Rawling Way, and Walker Street, Rawling Way, Hessle Road and Mytongate.

Access for residents, pedestrians and emergency services will be maintained at all times.

The works will be carried out by contractor Wright Civil Engineering Ltd, with final works to traffic light signalling taking place in January 2017.
