Ross Bennett, winner of Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2016 award, said: ""It was a great honour to be announced as Hull's Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2016 and I am looking forward to acting as an ambassador for youth enterprise in Hull, and working with the young entrepreneurs network #THUDYorkshire, which is to be launched in January.""

Ruth Badger, Patron of Youth Enterprise Partnership, said: ""There is no doubt that Hull as a city has real commitment through Hull City Council and the Youth Enterprise Partnership to develop the enterprising skills of young people. It never ceases to amaze me how with the right support and encouragement, young people are truly enterprising and whilst not all will go on to be entrepreneurs of the future they certainly will be more enterprising in their outlook and in the workplace.

""It was a difficult choice to identify the eventual winners as all those nominated and shortlisted were winners and true ambassadors of Hull.""

Councillor Webster, Portfolio Holder for learning and skills said: ""Hull is one of the best places in the country for enterprise education and youth entrepreneurship and these awards are a fantastic annual event to recognise this, and also to continue to inspire our young people.""
