Wawne View planning application given conditional approval - 27/07/16
A planning application for 750 new homes in north Hull has been delegated to the City Planning manager for conditional approval following the resolution of flood risk/drainage matters by Hull City Council's planning committee.

The Wawne View development will be completed in two phases and could see up to 1660 homes built. The first phase has been given consent for 750 new homes to be built along with recreational facilities on land to the east of Wawne Road.

There will be a mixture of detached, semi-detached and terraced houses of 1, 2, 2.5 and 3 storeys.

The delegation to the City Planning Manager means that the developers need to resolve the drainage and flood risk issues across the site in order for approval to be received. Failure to do so will result in a refusal.

The planning committee also agreed the outline planning application for the second phase of Wawne View which could see around another 910 homes being built. These early plans also show an education Hub which includes a new nursery to the west of Broadacre Primary School and an extension and improvements made to the Broadacre Primary School.

Alex Codd, City Planning Manager, said: ""The planning committee were generally satisfied with the Wawne View development proposals. The development is offering a good mix of residential properties, which will add to the positive growth of the northern area of the city.""

The Wawne View site is allocated as residential as part of the existing Local Plan, the proposed Kingswood Area Action Plan and the new Hull Local Plan (currently at consultation stage).
